On December 19th,
UPNEXT hosted a holiday celebration. The guests included past and present
participants and their family members. Our alumni shared stories about their
experiences at UPNEXT and their progression into our fellowship and
transitional work opportunities. We enjoyed listening to classic Christmas
tunes while eating delicious holiday-themed treats.
The UPNEXT team led a fun and friendly gingerbread house competition with the children. They used icing to stick gingerbread crackers together and build a collection of wonderful, creative houses. Meanwhile, one father’s talented son decorated our whiteboard with his own unique version of the UPNEXT logo.

Afterwards, each child was gifted with a present, a book, and pajamas. The presents were donated to us courtesy of Toys-For-Tots. The books and night garments were donated by Discovery Communications, an organization introduced to UPNEXT through long-time partner the Pajama Program. This celebration was a joyous and well-deserved event for our fathers. Many of them experienced significant positive transformations during their time at UPNEXT. We look forward to hosting more family engagement events in 2015!
